Delta-9 THC, a prominent cannabinoid found in hemp and cannabis plants, has recently gained legal clarity in various European Union countries. As of my knowledge cutoff in early 2023, the EU's Narcotics Regulation (EU) 2017/219 exempts certain cannabinoids, including delta-9 THC, from being classified as narcotics when they are derived from hemp with a THC content not exceeding 0.3% on a dry weight basis. This legal distinction allows for the sale, possession, and use of delta-9 THC products within the boundaries set by each member state's individual regulations. It's important to note that while this opens up opportunities for consumers and businesses alike, the legal landscape is subject to interpretation and enforcement at the national level, which can vary across EU countries. Consumers are advised to stay informed about the specific laws of their respective nations regarding delta-9 THC products.
